Bone folder, mini mister, white card for stamping and die cutting, White Linen Card, Black Card, Memento Tuxedo Black Ink, Distress Ink Antique Linen and Wild Honey, black marker, Copic Marker E51, Y38, E55, Diamond Stickles, Nuvo Crystal Glaze, Acetate.

Instructions

I like to do all my die cutting, stamping and coloring first. Using Memento Tuxedo Black ink stamp the “you are sweeter than honey” sentiment from the Sweet as Honey stamp set on yellow cardstock from the Backyard Blossoms paper pad, die cut with the second smallest hexagon die. Stamp the bees on white cardstock using the same set and same ink, color using Antique Linen all over first, then Wild Honey through the center, use a black marker for the stripes, die cut with coordinating die. Apply stickles to the wings and crystal glaze to the body, when dry lightly spray with the mini mister and bend up the wings.  Using your Memento Tuxedo Black ink also stamp the honey pot and honey dipper from the Honey Bee Bungalow stamp set on white cardstock.  Color your honey dipper in Antique Linen, then highlight with Copic Marker E55. Color your honey pot all over in the Antique Linen ink, highlight the burlap using your E55 Copic Marker, color the honey section in E51, then highlight in Y38, die cut with coordinating die, apply crystal glaze. When your bees are dry, I like to what I call float them, cut a strip of acetate approximately 1cm wide, you can trim the length later, fold over the top about 1 cm to create a right angle, adhere your bee to the front side so when laid flat your bee in risen, repeat with all three bees. Die cut 1 black hexagon using the 2nd largest die. Die cut 1 black honeycomb and trim down to size.
Cut your card base using the white cardstock 8 1/2” x 6 1/8”. Fold your card in half, I like to run a bone folder over the spine of the card to give it a clean finish.   In the center of the card, cut out the honeycomb die. Select a yellow patterned cardstock from your Backyard Blossoms Paper Pad, trim down 5 ½” x 3 ½”. Cut 1 white mat 6 1/8” x 4 ¼”.

Now you have all your elements done you can assemble your card. Adhere your black honeycomb die cut so it shadows your honeycomb from the card front. Adhere your yellow mat behind the honeycomb dies. Adhere your white mat to the card inside to conceal your patterned card. Lightly ink around the white honeycomb on

the front using Antique Linen ink. Line up your bees where you want them, trim the strips so when they are adhered they will be concealed under the sentiment and the honey pot. Adhere in place. Using 3d adhesive adhere the black hexagon in the bottom right corner, make sure to cover your acetate strips, using 3d adhesive adhere the sentiment.  Adhere your honey dipper on the left edge of the black hexagon, just the dipper the handle will float free. Adhere you honey pot to the left making sure to cover your acetate strip. You can play around with the back bend of the acetate as to how high you want your bees to sit.
TIP: This is a great way to float a butterfly, flowers or anything your wish to look like it is floating in the air.
