Sweet Baby Boy Card

I was lucky enough to make this card for a close friend, they welcomed their first son into the world, I have been lucky enough to know Kirsten since she was 4 years old. The time has flown and to see this beautiful kid that I saw grow up so quick, starting families of their own. Beautiful...

Products used - I have used assorted papers from the Bella Blvd Cute Baby Boy collection along with the Bella Blvd cute baby boy pieces #1144, Bella Blvd Icons #1143, Bella Blvd treasures and text stickers #1142, Bazzill white and powder blue. The heading was typed on the computer and printed on white smooth cardstock. Paper Roses Stitched Rectangles Die.

This is a 30cm x 15cm card base. Card front is 14.5cm x 14.5cm spotted mat adhered flat, 14cm x 11cm love heart mat adhered flat, the sentiment was typed and finished with a rectangle stitched frame from Paper Roses, adhere the handsome mat under the top right corner and then adhered with 3d adhesive to your card front. I have adhered the train pieces and then lined up the elephants and adhered with 3d adhesive.  Finish of the front with the love heart die cut and the sweetness tab in the top left side.
The inserts are  14.5cm x 14.5cm powder blue inserts mats, I have used 1 rectangle love heart piece topped with the rectangle spot piece, then adhered the Welcome to the World" sentiment over the top. On the right hand side is a 12cm x13cm white mat finished of with the backing banner and on the front the love heart banner.

New on the Heartfelt Creations Blog today, introducing the new Backyard Blossoms Collection, adding the new coneflower to the collection of stunning flowers Heartfelt Creations inspires.

   Heartfelt Creations Products used

Bone folder, heat gun, antistatic pad, white card for stamping and die cutting, White Linen Card, Gelatos – Green Tree, Mango, Butter Cream, Versacolor white Pigment Ink, White Embossing Powder, Brilliance Pearlescent Chocolate, Distress Peeled Paint.
Instructional Videos using gelatos

Technique #2 on this video shows the coloring techniques I used to color my Coneflowers.
I like to do all my die cutting, shaping and coloring first.  Die cut your Botanic Window Decorative die using white cardstock. TIP:  Use an antistatic pad to wipe your cardstock first before stamping, it creates a static free environment so that only your stamped image is embossed. Using the Blossoming Coneflower, Backyard Blossoms and the Garden’s Edge Stamp sets stamp your images using your White Versacolor Ink, then cover completely in white embossing powder, shake of the excess and heat with your heat gun, don’t get too close to your cardstock or it will get a brown tinge. I have colored these images using Gelatos. Gelatos are a water-soluble crayon which is great for blending and shading over heat embossed images. Firstly, just scribble the desired colors over the image, green for the stems, butter cream for the flower petals and Mango for the flower centers and now you are just going to rub it in with your fingers until blended and smooth, for the highlight add Mango to the bottom of the flower petal and now rub in with your fingers to blend. When you are happy with your shading use a cloth to rub of the excess color and it will leave the white embossed stamp more visible. If you use a damp cloth your color will be less vibrant, just experiment with your coloring technique.  Highlight the flowers centers using the Pearlescent Chocolate ink very lightly. Repeat this with your wheat stem.  Die cut with coordinating dies. The great thing about Gelatos is you can go over it again until you are happy with the blending. I have very lightly shaped the flowers using the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

Cut your card base using the white cardstock 12 ¼” x 6 1/8”. Fold your card in half, I like to run a bone folder over the spine of the card to give it a clean finish. Trim the selected cardstock from the Backyard Blossoms Paper Collection, I have used 3 pages, the background mat (pg1) and the mat that I have cut the oval mat from using the Eyelet Oval & Basics Die (pg2) and 1 mat trimmed to 4 ½” x 3 5/8” and 1 insert mat 6” x 6” (Pg3).

Now you have all your elements done, you can complete your card. Adhere your yellow insert mat. Adhere your patterned background mat to your card front. Using 3d adhesive adhere your yellow mat. Using 3d adhesive adhere your botanic window die.  Adhere your oval mat. Adhere the flowers as pictured. Adhere 1 rock candy stamen over your wheat die cut. Using 3d adhesive adhere the “Have a Wonderful Birthday” sentiment overt the wheat stamp and stamen.

Sweet Peony Gift Box

So very excited to bring you my very first inspiration Wednesday design. New on the Heartfelt blog today. www.heartfeltcreations.us/blog

Heartfelt Materials

Other Materials
Die cutting machine, trimmer, scissors, mini mister, white card for stamping, white linen cardstock for covering the box, 3d adhesive, Ranger Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide ink for stamping flowers, Brilliance Pearlescent Coral ink for coloring flowers, Color Box Olive Pastel Chalk ink for stamping leaves, Memento Pistachio ink for coloring leaves, pink sheer ribbon, Green Tara Pearl Clusters Ivory, white gift box (I keep packaging from presents and reuse to make beautiful giftboxes and bags).

Instructions
I like to do all my die cutting, shaping and coloring first. Using white cardstock Die cut 2 each of the Decorative Medallion Dies for the top of the box and 1 extra of the half circle die cut for the front of the box.   TIP:  when stamping with Pigment ink you will have to let it dry or set with a heat gun before die cutting and coloring to avoid smudging. Using your Large Sweet Peony Stamp Set, stamp the flowers 4 times – (8 flowers in total, I used 4 for each large flower) using the Distress Oxide Worn Lipstick ink. Using the Large Sweet Peony Stamp set stamp the large leaf 4 times, the medium and small leaves 2 times each using the Color Box Olive Pastel Ink. Using your Small Sweet Peony Stamp set, stamp the largest double peony 6 times – (12 flowers in total, I used 3 for each small flower). Using your Peony Bud and Blossom stamp set, stamp your Large bud once using a mixture of the Olive Pastel on the leaves and the Worn Lipstick on the bud, repeat this 4 more times with the small bud stamp. When your stamped images have dried, use your stack and store daubers to color your flowers using the Brilliance Pearlescent Coral and the leaves with Memento Pistachio ink. Once dried die cut with matching dies on your die cutting machine of choice.  Using your mini mister lightly spray your flowers and leaves, shape your flowers and leaves using a Heartfelt Mold or your Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.

Measure your box top and cut the mat to fit or I like to leave a ½ cm frame around the edge.  Do the same with any panel you wish to cover. For the top of the lid I have attached ribbon around the edges before adhering to the top of the box so as to conceal my ribbon under the cardstock. Repeat with panels you wish to add ribbon to. Adhere the panels to your box.

Now you have all your elements done, it’s time to assemble your box. I like to lay out all my elements first to make sure I like my design and then when I am happy I start to adhere them down 1 at a time.  I have used the Designer dries clear adhesive to adhere all elements of this project.  Use 3d adhesive on your sentiment and adhere in the bottom left corner.
