Sparkling Poinsettia


I found this whilst looking through my class pics. I love that I can just start creating and don't know when to stop. I just love the versatility of this collection from Heartfelt. The Sparkling Poinsettia is a collection you can use time and time again, as I have shown in the picture, you can create cards, scrapbooking, of the page, and some really quick Christmas gifts such as napkin rings, soap bands and candle bands, even wine glass decorations, you can use traditional Christmas reds & greens or play around with gold & silver embossing and foil and with wreaths the stunning finish of whites. It makes it one of the most versatile Christmas sets you can own. I have used the Large Sparkling Poinsettia stamp & die set and the Small Sparkling Poinsettia stamp & die sets. I only have instructions for the cards, which I have added at the bottom of this post, I have added individual pics of the projects above and listed the materials that I could remember.


Materials - Stazon Platinum (stamping on the vellum and the patterned cardstock), Ranger Super Fine Silver Embossing Powder, Kaiser Sparklets, Wild Orchid Stamens and bead sprays, Green Tara Skeleton Leaves, Wire Ribbon. I adhere the flowers to the wreath with a hot glue gun.


Materials - Gold and Silver Foil (bon bon were cut using Big Shot Pro 12x12 die. Gold and Silver Twine, Sparkling Poinsettia Die & Stamp, Large Sparkling Poinsettia Die & Stamp, I used Forest Moss Distress Ink and Aged Mahogany to get the variegated colour on the leaves.

Shape and colour flowers – using the fired brick distress ink shade flowers first and then using the aged mahogany distress ink, shade the outer edges. Using the forest moss distress ink shade your leaves and then shade edges heavier using the forest moss again.

Card 1

Card measurements – red Bazzill 26cm x 18cm, patterned stock mat size 17.5cm x 12.5cm, white Bazzill 17.5cm x 12.5cm (inside mat).


Begin to assemble your card, use the picture as a guide.  Fold red base card in half. Adhere your stamped sentiment mat to the card front. Adhere your white insert mat to the inside of the card.  Tie a bow with gold ribbon. Adhere your shaped and coloured flowers as pictured. Apply your sparklets to the flowers centre’s, they are already sticky, but I use a little glue to make sure the stay in place.


Card 2


Card measurements – green Bazzill 27cm x 18.5cm, patterned stock mat size 17.5cmcm x 12.5cm, white Bazzill 17.5cm x 12.5cm (inside mat).



Begin to assemble your card, use the picture as a guide.  Fold green base card in half. Adhere your stamped sentiment mat to the card front. Card 4

Begin to assemble your card, use the picture as a guide.  Adhere your stamped sentiment mats to their matching white mats. Fold green base card in half. Adhere your white mat to the inside of the card.  Using the front green section only fold in half again to create an easel.  Adhere your stamped front section to the bottom of the front fold so when standing as an easel the top section is not attached. On the inside white panel using 3d adhesive adhere your merry Christmas mat at the bottom edge so when the easel is standing it has a ledge to sit at. Tie a bow with gold ribbon. Adhere your shaped and coloured flowers as pictured. Apply your sparkle to the flowers centre’s, they are already sticky, but I use a little glue to make sure the stay in place.

Card Assembly   

Shape and colour flowers as shown, set aside to dry whilst you assemble your card. Begin to assemble your card, use the picture as a guide.   Fold pomegranate card in half. Using the front section only fold in half again to create a easel card.  Adhere your stamped sentiment mat to matching white and red mats. Adhere your medium size white mat to front fold of card, adhere your matching patterned mat to white mat. On the inside of card adhere your large white mat and on the bottom edge adhere your patterned mat.  Using 3d adhesive adhere your stamped mat to create a ledge for your easel to stand up. Adhere your shaped and coloured flowers. Decorate with stickles as desired.
